SEEDS Classroom Enrichment Grants Program
Thanks to the generosity and involvement of many Daphne citizens, the SEEDS Clssrooml Enrichment Grants Program is growing by leaps and bounds!
For the 2007-08 school year, the SEEDS Board of Directors has awarded some $28,500 in new grants to 22 instructional initiatives in the Daphne schools. This figure represents a 119 percent increase in community-generated resources for classroom enhancement projects over last year’s program.
The 2007-08 funds are being used to support a new School-levell Block Grant initiative that earmarks $3,000 for each participating school with another $10,000 being awarded to individual teachers or teams of teachers for special enrichment projects.
Daphne teachers and Local School Block Grant Committees are encoraged to download, print and send in grant proposals for the 2008-09 school year. The deadline to apply is August 11, 2008.
