Join us on Saturday, November 13, for the 2010 Mamma Mia Cook-off! The sixth annual event celebrating Daphne’s Italian heritage will take place from 7-10 p.m. at Daphne City Hall.
Check out this year’s prize recipes from local businesses, churches, civic groups and families as they compete for Il Primo Premio (First Place) in either the Corporate or Non-profit Division and in their selected category: Carne (beef), Pollo (chicken) Sensa Carne (meatless) and Frutti di Mare (seafood). Enjoy the colorful displays depicting unique Italian themes as each team vies for the coveted Mamma Mia Award for outstanding presentation and showmanship.
With fine wine, authentic Italian desserts, the big band sounds of the Jubilee Orchestra and large-screen college football rounding out the evening, there’s something for everyone at Mamma Mia -- presented this year by title sponsors Wind Creek Casino and Dr. Glenn Glass of Baldwin County Orthodontic Specialists.
Proceeds from the event help fund SEEDS’ Classroom Enrichment Grant Program which has distributed more than $121,000 to the five Daphne public schools and Christ the King Catholic School since 2005.
