Supporting Educational Enrichment in Daphne's Schools
Our work
We are working to achieve our mission by:
- Developing financial support to fund new enrichment opportunities;
- Encouraging innovation and collaboration among our teachers and schools – both public and private;
- Focusing our collective influence on issues of importance to the quality of education in Daphne;
- Giving every Daphne citizen new opportunities to be involved.
Our Current Goals:
- Continue funding for and expand the scope of SEEDS’ annual Classroom Enrichment Grant Program.
- Provide ongoing support for and information about Daphne High’s current application to offer the International Baccalaureate Program – a rigorous pre-university curriculum offered in selected schools throughout the world for highly motivated secondary students.
- Continue facilitating improved communications among Daphne principals, teachers, parents and citizens.
- Inform Daphne residents and businesses about current character education efforts in the Daphne schools and encourage them to support these through the TEAM Up for Daphne Character initiative.
- Research, design and secure funding for The Lyceum, a community learning network focusing on humanities-related studies that will provide after-school, summer day camp and classroom enrichment opportunities in areas such as language arts, history and drama.
